AMPM Cafe, USJ - Brunch For Our Second Weddingsary!

So whatsuuup everybodeh!
*munching on popcorn*
Lately our life as a normal Malaysian citizen became super interesting. From the Bersih version 1, 2, 3 and now 4.0 to the scandalicious 1MDB saga, to the murder of Kevin Morais, the freefalling of our Ringgit Malaysia (RM) value, and the hike of tol prices (oh yes baby, i'm not gonna let this issue walk scott free). Come on! This must be the best drama ever of the year! So much plot twists, the climax and anti-climaxes, the best actor, and actresses, not to forget the best supporting macais...Life has been incredibly amazing!

On the unrelated note, it has been TWO years since I got married! Yeay~ Happy Anniversary to us!

Mr. & Mrs. Soon, 18 Oct 2015 - Somewhere in SetiaWalk
My sister told me there's an AWESOME place called AMPM Cafe, located right near Main Place, USJ. And so, trusting her opinion on food, we followed her suggestion and head right there!

Marmalatte- Orange Infused Coffee
Although, the signboard is quite hidden, it was surprising to see the place is quite full. It must be a popular spot for brunch, especially during weekends.

The Big Breakfast - consisting or garden salad, eggs, sauteed mushroom, baked beans, baked sweet potato and ham/beef bacon of your choice.
All my photos here are captured using iPhone 5 (too broke to buy an iPhone 6). These photos are unedited, and unfiltered, because I'm a lazy ass to give justice to the food being served here. Many often we were infuriated by the misleading, mouthwatering food photographs in advertisements, only to find it looking bad upon ordering, right? Well, rest assured my photos in AMPM  are real. LOL!

Salmon Egg Benedict

The food looks really good. It's like I'm being served with bouquet of fresh edible mini gardens!

Steak Benedict
Look at the contrasting, vibrant colours!

The breakfasts are all nicely served, and tasted quite good. My peanut butter coffee doesn't have the peanut butter taste which I was expecting. It was rather bland, and slightly bitter. I shall skip in reviewing the coffee, as I am no expert in this field. hehe..

Hyperactivitism after a hearty breakfast

Overall, this is a beautiful place for photography as well. I guess it has been a trend for cafes to look pretty!

So, who wanna date me to AMPM cafe for brunch?

Here's their facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/ampmcafeusj

Happy 58th Independence Day, Malaysia!

My dear country Malaysia,
You are at your 58th year of independence, and I'm no longer the little girl who religiously sings your song as i did 22 years ago. When i was in school, i detested standing under the hot morning sun in the open aired assembly point, just to sing "Negaraku".  We had to stand still, stand as straight as the pillar that raises up your flag, otherwise, punishments await.

In my high-school, i attended a formal state function, where before the event started, the song Negaraku was played. The emcee announced for guests to stand up, in respect of the song. Most of the guests just sat on the seats. I stood up, and sang softly. I was confused. Why are the adults not respecting your song ? Why am I singing softly as though i was embarrassed?

I thought deeply about it, and today i am firm that i found the answers- I did not know u well, Malaysia. And those who did not respect your song, did not know you well either. I realised that i finally understood the meaning of Negaraku. We should take pride of our country, for what stability you have given us. We took you for granted, we thought that the peace, and harmony that lies within your land is an everlasting one. We thought that, without any effort, the abundance you gave us, will last forever.

In these recent years, you showed us that, to be a part of nation, each and everyone of us played a vital role. We  are the ones who made Malaysia as what Malaysia is. Malaysia, and its beauty, does not consist of any single great individuals, but, is of a collective group of rakyat, each contributing their strength and forming a great nation.

The 2015 Bersih 4 movement, indeed has mirrored to us the power of the rakyat. It may not be able to overthrow the existing corrupt government, but it definitely shows what unity is all about. Unity is the strongest fundamentals of a great nation, and i am sure we areheading  towards greatness.

31st August 2015! Selamat Hari Merdeka my fellow countrymen... For a great nation filled with love, respect and muhibbah...

Caught Up in A Rat Race

Good morning everyone,
This week, I started with a couple of mishaps and then i began to reflect on how my life has turned about. No doubt, the year 2009-2011 was the best periof of my blogging life. During that time, i woke up feeling inspired and positive, looking forward to experience all the beautiful day.

Moving forward from there, I have been establishing my own material wealth, chasing my dreams, weaving my ambitions. I got married, and have a happy life. Seems nice and all right, doesn't it? It's like a beautiful fondancy cake, the nice decorations doesnt necessary guarantees the cake is delicious. I have wore a mask that everyone wore- the "everything is ok" mask.

Reflecting from this, I am glad I have a platform to express my views and opinions, a platform to share my laughters and ranting. At least, i'm sure that i wont plunge into a state of depression or crash-a-plane. I am now writing this this post from LDP toll, the jam and the super long queue is unbelievable, yet amusing. Believe me, it's superbly terrible here that i have confident to complete writing before able to pass the toll!

Yesterday, i got caught in Sunway Pyramid basement for 30mins, moved about 20m, and decides to park again and have dinner there. I hated when my life goes this way. My only console to myself was to jam my way to work, but i am unwilling to accept the fact that i have to jam all the way home too.

During times like this, i start to wonder, how long can i cope living like this? Married, but childless, me and my husband has the privilege to re-design our life. We can choose to move to a far away town, and i can learn to plant. I sil ntly laughed at this thought. Me, the almighthy msxeroz, actually had mentally succumbed to the rat race and thinking about being a farmer!

Can we let go, and let our sun rise from the right direction again? Can we find our new passion in life?

So many questions, and so little answers.....

Most importantly, do we even have the courage to let go everything we tried to build so far?

Tomorrow marks 1st April, it will be the launching of GST (Government Service Tax) 6% for all consumers. Those living in big towns and cities in Malaysia, will definitely feel a pinch. The shopping malls  were filled with people restocking, it looks almost like apocalypse! News has been circulating that our petrol price will be increased as well. Gah! Seems like everything increases but not our income!

How do you cope?

Chinese New Year 2015 Preparation

Gong Xi, Gong Xi, Gong Xi Ni!

Another two weeks' time and all the chinese folks around the world will celebrate Chinese New Year! Since young, celebrating Chinese New Year is the largest annual festival for me. Ever since I own my own home, I've told myself to keep the tradition alive!

Things I do to welcome a blissful CNY:

1) Scrub, Wipe, Clean, Mop the House
I'm a lazy fatty, i only cleans my house on a weekly basis. Also, having 2 furbuns at home doesn't make things easier, especially during their shedding season. So before CNY comes, I will clean my fan, exhaust fan, scrub my kitchen floors, windows, iron grills and finally wash toilet!

2) Bake Cookies
I tried. But failed terribly!

I tried making cookies for 12 servings. It supposed to turn up to be Nutella Cookies. Either i'm retarded in following the steps, or there's problem with the recipe, my cookies turned up cute but rock-hard... My real teeth almost crack while biting it! So i mix in milk and oil and baked the remaining mixture, into muffins lol. My muffin taste good though!

3) Change Sofa Covers, Bedsheets, and Curtains
It's not a must, but since I havent been changing them for some time, so I'll just change it now. Kekeke!

4) Decorate The House
Angpao packet as the main tool, there's loads of DIY angpao home decoration for kids that can be done. Since I'm lacking Angpaos this year, I've only managed to make an Angpao Fan to blow in good fortune into my house!

Then the rest of the decorations, relies on
Xixi, Haha and YangYang which was brought home by my sister. I have no idea which colour is which.. so yeah~

If i have the time and more Angpao Packets, i'd love to make more DIY decorations!

Haha I would like to showcase my dad's DIY Angpao Lantern. Only he would have the patience to create such extravagant decoration like this.

5) Filling in Angpaos With Money
I haven't prepare the money for Angpao, but will have to! Giving Angpao to younger generations, and unmarried individuals are a custom. It's a form of blessing, in hopes that they can grow up healthily, and wishing the things they do, will go on smoothly.

Thanks to Nando's Malaysia for the red packet and the vouchers! Let's see which lucky 5 relatives will have this voucher from me!

How is your CNY preparation?

Oh ya, Valentine's Day is coming too! Any romantic plans? Mind to share?

Days That Passed, and Those Coming By

Can't believe actually how fast time evaporates away! A new year has come and i havent been blogging in a loooooong time.

This year will be the Goat year? Seriously the Chinese have all sorts of labelling. Sometimes they call it Sheep or Ram year. I just don't geddit sometimes! I don't really anticipate CNY already. Perhaps, the truth hits me. As much as I hate going go Melaka to wash the dirty toilets, mop the dusty floors and sleep on cockroaches infested beds... I miss sitting at the livingroom, on the dirty sofa, with my Ah Kong.

This weekend, marks AhKong's 1 year deathsary...I haven't step my foot in that house for 1 year now. I wonder, if there's any changes to it.

It's really nostalgic and saddening, to know what time can do to us. We were born, we grow, we live, and then we aged. Then you all know what's next. This is why, i vowed to be happy, to be kind and grateful to whatever i have achieved everyday.

Talk to you later. Gotta go work now!
