UFO Sightings in Malaysia???

I was browsing the net and was read somewhere there were UFO sightings in Sunway Mentari about 2 weeks ago. So, in case you are just as curious as me, this is the famed UFO video recording by John Tan.

This is the advantage of having your gadgets with you all the time. John managed to capture some blinking lights in the sky at night.

What do you think it was?

I think it is not a UFO, but it is a LED-battery powered(maybe) flying object - something like what some of the commentator mention, a motorised LED Kite.

"However, a commentator on YouTube debunked the theory saying they were merely kites which were lit, although Tan insisted it was a windless night.
When contacted, the National Space Agency (Angkasa) also opined that it was unlikely that kites were involved."
“People don't fly kites at night because there is no wind,” said director-general Dr Mustafa Din Subari."

SO, WHAT IS THIS HUH??
Seriously the Director-General of ANGKASA should get his facts right. Nowadays, people DO FLY KITES AT NIGHT. There's even a Kite Festival where people of the same interest can display their kites from day to NIGHT! And their passion expands with technology!
Actually, we don't really have to go that far to look for LED Kites - Passionkites from Singapore (website here) actually supplies and even have loads of patterns/designs for you to choose from. If I'm not mistaken there's also a youtube video on how to assemble it. (p/s: This is not an advertorial for Passion Kite LOL)
I also found another interesting article that proves that LED flying kite do exists - Asia Singapore: Remote Control Kite with LED.  How it actually works still baffles me but it is a general knowledge that I am very, very stupid.
Anyways, what we say reflects who we are. I don't blame the videographer and his friends for being curious about UFO and all. But I expect our National Space Agency would give a statement like this "People please do not panic, at the moment we do not see this as a threat to our national security. Our surveillance do not detect any unusual space movement that night. However, we currently do not know what that flying object is. We are currently monitoring our airspace." <-- Don't you think this sounds a little more intelligent? AHAHA..
Well UFOs or kites, or whatever it may be. Let our curiosity expands our imagination, because our imagination is important to keep us sane (MsXeRoZ, 2012) LOL
Hey anyone know where to buy LED Kites in Malaysia? I wanna play one too!! Let me know ya!!!

Opinion: Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia

The other day, I read upon this piece of news from The Star online.

Govt to introduce more 1Malaysia products to ease people's burden
KUALA LUMPUR: The 4% increase in the cost of living since 1993, as seen in the compound annual growth rate (CAGR), has prompted the Government to continue increasing new products through the 1Malaysia label to ease the burden of the people.Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) special director Datuk Aziyah Bahauddin said products introduced under 1Malaysia to date have received good response and the facility would be expanded. (The Star, July 24, 2012)

As curious as it is, I went to Google more about this Kedai Rakyat 1 Malaysia, and to my amazement they have an official website - http://www.kedairakyat1malaysia.com.my/

Hmmm... Impressive, ain't it??

I was just about to tell myself that I have been underestimating this 1Malaysia propaganda by our government when the page loaded. Not bad, but I think there should be further improvement.

I may not be a marketing or business management guru but here are some of the most basic common sense a consumer (or potential consumer) will have.

Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia (1)

The purpose of an official website is to inform and spread the new that we have our own local made products so that the people will be more aware. However, for Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia's website, the homepage contains Prime Minister Dato Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak's photo. Please understand I have nothing against our prime minister. I just feel that, he lacks attractiveness erm...isn't very good looking for a front cover the home page should feature the products. I mean, there's much better photos that can depict 1Malaysia people and the products. Dato Sri Najib can be featured in the "Founder" section or "Welcome" section.

Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia (2)

Product branding and packaging - I regret to say that I really have low confidence in these products being sold. From the packaging, we can see that the products isn't physically impressive. It could be due to the principal of selling these products at much lower costs that not much funds are being allocated on the packaging design and product branding. This could be the same reason why Tesco / Giant brand products looks simple and plain too! However, there are cases where Watson's and Guardian's own-brand products are cheaper and have very nice packaging. My point is, since this is a government project, why not give it a facelift, and provide more information at the website on some featured products where people can see some information like - food nutrition, origins, quality. This would eventually build up some confidence on the products sold.

Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia (3)
Another eyesore of this website is the definition of 1Malaysia posted on the bottom of the main page. Anyone understand what does the description of 1Malaysia means from here?

There's a lot more improvement that should be done. I believe that this Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia can truly benefit the people and earn money for the government. I also hope that this platform will not be used as a self-promote agenda by the administrative.

Good luck 1Malaysia!

Story of A Rude Malaysian...

If you don't believe that Reader's Digest ranked Kuala Lumpur almost at the bottom of a list of least courteous cities, placing it at 34th place out of 36 major cities in the world, then let me convince you with my share of rude encounter here.

At 3.50pm today, I received a phone call from a Malay girl name Julia. Here's our conversation:-

Julia:       Hello, saya owner Desa Sri Hartamas. U dari Metolijen ke?
Me:        *doubt tone* U mean Mxxxxxxn Sdn. Bhd.? U call dari kompeni mana?
Julia:       *annoyed* Desa Sri Hartamas la. Kan I dah cakap!
Me:        *huh?!* U owner ke tenant? u dari mana?
Julia:       *tsk* I owner Desa Sri Hartamas. U yang sewa bangunan ini kat i kan?
Me:         Oh, u dari tingkat mana ni?
Julia:        Tulah, u tak tanya! nanti jap, nanti jap.. No 8 - 1, Jalan XXX, Desa Sri Hartamas.
Me:          Ok, ada apa halnya?
Julia:        *angry tone* U datang sekarang, ada benda keluar keluar dari tandas, basah semua bilik i.
Me:         I tak faham la apa u cakap. Boleh cakap lagi sekali?
Julia:         *super angry* I taktau kenapa macam tu, u contact maintenance team u datang sekarang!
                ...(inaudible) keluar keluar macam tu!
Me:          Apa yang keluar keluar tu?
Julia:         Air lah! *loud & rude* Suruh maintenance team u datang.
Me:          Miss, kita takde building maintenance team la. Biasanya repair sendiri.
Julia:        Boss I suruh tanya ada maintenance team ke tak. Kalau takde cakaplah je.
Me:         Memang takde maintenance team punya, kita ni bukanlah kondo.
Julia        *angry and rude and speak super fast* CAKAPLAH AWAL-AWAL!  KALAU I TAU U
INGAT I NAK SANGAT TELEFON U?
Me:        *speechless 1 sec* Biasanya....*heard phone being hung up from the other side*
              *TOOT              TOOOT                TOOOT*

I was really speechless with every sentence I heard from her. From the above conversation, what will you feel if you are me?

Initially I felt confused, its my first time encountering people who claim she's the owner of Desa Sri Hartamas. Secondly, she pronounced the wrong company name, I thought she called the wrong number! *sigh* Secondly, she said that her toilet leaking or something, and her boss wanted her to ask whether there's any repair team or not. But from the earlier conversation, she didn't ask, but instructed me!

*facepalm*

So when Reader's Digest labelled us as least courteous country, we feel embarassed. We feel angry. I know some of you feel funny as well. But face the fact, there are people out there like Julia, who don't know the basics of telecommunicating.

a. Introduction of Self
b. Explaining the Situation.
c. Request for Help.
d. Ending a Conversation

For me, an effective conversation is one where you address people you speak to, and introduce yourself (and where you are calling from). Then you voice out your situation, and seek for help. Then, there's room for negotiations and all.

Rudeness doesn't help to solve a matter.

Do you have your own "rude story"? Mine sharing with me??

XOXO

Break Up! Bosco and Myolie No Longer Together!

Aww.. *tears brimming*

Bosco Myolie

A break up is tough enough but a public break up is hell! I have always liked Bosco Wong & Myolie Wu. Although they kept their relationship in the shadow for years, the chemistry and the cuteness of this couple can be felt by fans and media. Instead  of cashing on advertisement as a couple, they repeatedly deny any romance (until Myolie won her TV Queen award). I find that both of them really treasure their relationship.

The breakup came as a surprise when Bosco announced it during a radio interview. And when media approached Myolie for comments, the pain of the breakup is still evident as it was reported that there was tears in her eyes.

And i feel sad too.. I cant read Chinese but I get my daily HongKong Celeb news supply from JayneStars. You can head on there for detailed news.

Anyway do you believe in 7th Year Itch??

Random: Little Puppies of Stray Dogs

Little Puppies

I have a lot of things jumble up in my mind. And to get rid of those unnecessary stuff in my brain I think I would stray away from a serious blog post, and focus on some of the cute stuff in the world.

Little Puppies.

You see, my neighbour in Ipoh found a stray dog and kept the dog in an area behind my house. It happened that this stray dog got herself pregnant and gave birth to a hoard of puppies.

Little Puppies

Puppies are really cute and innocent, really love they way they sleep.

Little Puppies

But one day, problem will arise:-
1) Who would want to continue feeding the puppies?
2) Will the puppies be caught by the authorities? What will happen to the puppies then?
3) If the stray dog or puppies happen to attack some one, who will be the one responsible?

Little Puppies

The puppies and the mom-dog was really noisy, but since they are adorable, FORGIVEN!!!

Little Puppies

My opinion is, no matter how much you love an animal, you have to love them responsibly. There's no point caring for than you can afford, and then just give it up like that. I appreciate my neighbour's love for animals and providing food and shelter for them. Nonetheless, I think 3 grown dogs + 6 puppies are really too much unless you own a big property.!

Here I would like to give a toast to the little puppies who brightens up my day, and may God bless them into good homes with good families.

XOXO
MsXeRoZ loves puppies but prefers rabbits...

ICE AGE 4 - Continental Drift

I was supposed to be watching Spiderman, but too bad left front row seats so I watched Ice Age 4 - Continental Drift instead. This is also my first time entering cinema full with kids, anticipating the animation.

The movie revolves around the formation of the continents, with the big piece of ice breaking down. This causes the unexpected separation of Manny (mammoth) with his wife, Ellie, and daughter Peaches. When Manny's home was being destroyed, he vowed that no matter how long he takes, he will come back for them. So in Ice Age 4, we follow Manny's journey to reunite with his family and find himself a new home. Manny is joined with Diego (sabertooth tiger), Sid (sloth) and Sid's grandmother, and together they embark an ever-hilarious expedition.

Despite being the 4th release of Ice Age animation series, the hilariousness is not disappointing. A very light hearted movie. I recommend you to watch this movie, if you are feeling boring or stressful, Ice Age 4 will make sure you laugh your hearts out.

That's all for tonight!

XOXO

Buka Puasa With Authentic Malaysian Food at USJ- Alicafe Tiga Rasa Restaurant

[Review]

On Monday, I went for a food tasting session with Nuffnang Glitterati Plus. I guess, you gonna see me going more of G+ events because I'm back from my hibernation and I'm BACK FOR GOOD!

AliCafe Tiga Rasa ~ I'm sure everyone has heard of AliCafe, but did you know that AliCafe has come up with a concept restaurant, with its mission to bring Malaysian flavours for all. In conjuction with their opening, and also the Ramadan season right around the corner, AliCafe Tiga Rasa brings you local food, cooked to perfection. Well, it's my first time here so let me walk you through my experience~!

Tiga Rasa Boasts of their three main specialty chilli blend - Sos Gulai Lemak, Sos Sambal Hebi Hiam, and Sos Sambal lemak.

A popular saying is that "Kalau takde cili, takdelah selera" (if there's no chilli, then there's no appetite). Yes, Malaysians love spiciness...as it opens up our appetite and adds to the taste of the food. Same concept applies to AliCafe Tiga Rasa, where the three main specialty chilli blend serves as the perfect sauces served with chicken, lamb, fish or vegetables.

This time, I was served with these variations:

#1: Grilled Sting Ray with Gulai (curry) Lemak Sauce
Currently no.1 ranking in my heart. I love the sourish yet thick, and rich flavour of the curry powder, spices and saltiness. The soft stingray texture absorbs the sauce making this a mouthwatering cuisine. Coconut cream, with lemongrass scent really makes this superb! It is also served with vegetables and you can have a good meal with plain rice!
My favourite Ikan Pari Panggang Sos Gulai Lemak

#2 Roasted Vegetables with Sambal Shrimp Sauce
This is also very unique variation of the Chinese food - Sei Tai Tin Wong (Four Heavenly Kings) consists of French Beans, Long Beans, Petai, and aubergine. Same combination of vegetables, but with different cooking style and sauce used, the taste is also different. The sauce is filled with a thick shrimp (hebi) aroma, hence making every bite fulfilling. I bet non-vegelovers would love this as well.
Sayur Panggang Sos Sambal Hebi Hiam

#3 Lamb Chop With Sambal Lemak Sauce
The aroma of the lamb chop filled the room when this dish is served. As it is served on a hot plate, you can see the sauce bubbling in heat. I find the lamb meat is too tough and it's really hard to bite. Perhaps, I took the tendon part and thus it is harder to bite. Nonetheless, the sambal lemak sauce covers the smell slightly of the lamb, making it more appetizing for non-lamb lovers like me.
Lamb Chop Panggang Sos Sambal Lemak

#4 Curry Fish Head
The AliCafe Tiga Rasa serves Curry Fish Head that are a result of the fusion of Chinese and Malay versions of the curry fish head. This dish has a equal portion of lemak and curry, a balance which most restaurants failed to achieve. The level of spiciness is also acceptable, but i was informed that we can request the curry to be made either less spicy or more spicy.
Kari Kepala Ikan

#5 Tom Yam Siakap
Being a tom yam lover, I definitely like this dish. Personally, I prefer it to be more sourish. Like any other servings, this dish is filled with vegetables. The aroma and taste of the tom yam just flows into the tender fresh siakap flesh, hmmm...mouth watering.
Siakap Tom Yam

#6 Istimewa Ramadhan Set
Ramadhan will start next week and all my Muslim friends will be fasting. AliCafe Tiga Rasa too, provide a buka puasa dinner value meal of RM 69.90.

The set consists of Kurma Extract Juice (house specialty), kurma (dates), green vegetables, omelette, Fried Chicken with Spices, Siakap Fish, TigaRasa Mix Grilled Vegetable dish, Rice, and Hokkaido Cake.

Istimewa Ramadhan Set
There's also individual sets varieties that you can choose from.

AliCafe Tiga Rasa, ain't like any other Malay restaurants around. With its cosy, comfortable ambience you will definitely enjoy your makan time here.

Last but not least, check out their specialty dessert as well. Banana Spring Roll served with vanilla icecream!

Banana Spring Roll Served With Vanilla IceCream
I would like to thank Nuffnang Malaysia for inviting me, and also AliCafe team - En Efdi, especially for the wonderful food experience and hospitality.

Location:-
AliCafe Tiga Rasa Restaurant
Taipan, USJ (Beside True Fitness)
Telephone No: 03-8011 9412
Business hours: 8am till 12midnight.

I had a great time here with my newly made blogger friends and the food served. Hope you enjoy my honest review.

Malaysian Government To Allow Handphones & IT Gadgets In School

" PUTRAJAYA: Students will be allowed to bring mobile phones and IT gadgets to school from next year after rules and regulations under the Education Act 1996 are amended.
Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said the move was in line with the implementation of the virtual teaching and learning programme, dubbed “1Bestari” which offers free WiFi.
“We want to provide a virtual learning environment so that students can use their gadgets to learn."
The Star, 17 July 2012

Students will be yelling with joy over this news. While teachers and some parents will sweat in horror. For me, neither a student nor a teacher, I find that legitimizing handphones and IT gadgets will only unleash more trouble - but, I may be wrong.
I used to be a student, and I do own a handphone. My first handphone, is the ever-epic Nokia 3310 (navy blue) costs about RM350, which i bought in 2001 after scoring straight As for PMR. My parents allowed the purchase, and actually I brought the phone to school during extra curricular activities which were held at 3pm-5.30pm daily. Schools are very strict and random-occassional spotchecks will be held. Here's a list of items that may be confiscate (depending on which school are you in) based on my memory.
a) Mechanical pencil (primary school only).
b) Handphone
c) Shiny jewellery (some earrings are allowed)
d) CDs (be it Original or Burned ones <-- Stupidest rule ever!) Only diskette is allowed.
e) Colourful hairbands (like, wtf?!)
f) Comic books.
g) Harry Potter books. Yeah if i remembered correctly there's someone complained about me for reading Harry Potter books during duty as a prefect. LOL
I think they have legitimize CD usage since nowadays nobody uses diskette anymore. I wonder whether is there a point they banned pendrive? Well, just curious!
The point here is mobile phones are being banned because teachers cannot control the student's usage. You see, in the earlier years, the phone can only be used for sms and calling. But now, majority of the people (especially youngsters) have a SMARTphone. So, you dont have to be a genius to know which is easier to control - students with stupidphones or students with smartphones??
I can imagine this scenario....*day dream mode*

Ended up, everyone busy updating status, twitpic and instagramming. Wow, school is so much fun.
Nobody can deny the importance of mobile phones, but for once, let mobile phones free from students life for 8 hours they are in school. It is just 6 years of education, then they are free to use mobile phones as much as they want! 8 hours without mobile phone daily will not affect their upbringing, intelligence and also security.
If you say, "I need to tell my son to wait me under the tree when I pick him up after school", just tell ur son earlier. "Son, please keep an eye for me under the tree. Don't run elsewhere" That's how me, and hundred of my schoolmates waited for our parents last time. Nobody got lost, and every parents managed to pick up their kid. If we can do it, why cant you? If I got tied up with meetings, I'll tell my friend to tell my mom to wait for me 10mins. I will tell at least 3 friends, so that if any of them goes home first, at least there's someone can pass the message to my mom.
Rather than thinking about I-want-to-know-my-children-whereabouts, I think that we should be thinking about spreading rumours via mobile, gang issues, and misuse of camera in toilets/changing room.
I think CCTV should be placed in classrooms to protect the students and teachers alike. (don't know whether any schools have implemented this or not).
I'm not jealous for the younger generation, I just feel that some rules, should not be legalized. Let there be a region of gray so that both parties (students and teachers) can benefit with.
With this, I rest my case.

XOXO,
a concerned MsXeRoZ

Malaysia's Olympics Badminton Team with Samsung Global Bloggers - TianChad & Sandra

Dato' Lee Chong Wei LCW London 2012 Olympic Games Airport Send off by SGB

This is the continuation of yesterday's blogpost : Dato Lee Chong Wei Goes Off For London Olympics 2012.

I was beaming with pride while chatting with Sam (secondary schoolmate) and he said sarcastically, "blogging about Lee Chong Wei doesn't mean you met him" =.= wtf! So immediately I contacted TianChad who is currently super busy to beg him to upload some photos! So, here comes this post! I'm so gonna brag to Sam again!

In case you didn't know, last 2 months there's a contest in selecting Samsung Global Blogger for a fully sponsored trip to London Olympics 2012. After stiff competition and gaining votes like hell, TianChad & Sandra emerge as winner!
Dato' Lee Chong Wei LCW London 2012 Olympic Games Airport Send off by SGB

The night was very warm, so when TianChad was preparing to go to London KLIA to send off Dato Lee Chong Wei & Malaysia's Badminton Team, I tagged along with intention of loitering at McDonald's for ice cream.

Maybe you can call this as fate *PERASAN LOL WTF*, Samsung Marketing team invited me to tag along with them, hence I have the privilege to meet Dato Lee Chong Wei. But as we waited for Dato Lee to arrive, I saw THE LEGENDARY RASHID SIDEK. Who is Rashid Sidek? Rashid Sidek was our ex-national player (now coach). When I was small, my dad and uncle will turn on to RTM 1 or 2 to watch the Sidek brothers play badminton. Then, the cartoon and manga of "Anak-Anak Sidek" was the Upin & Ipin of my era! *kyuuuus*

Throughout the day, I felt very inferior, for I'm the only one so called blogger WITHOUT a DSLR. And, those passer by use handphone to snap photos also get clearer images than me. T_T

Thank God Tianchad for snapping for me this photo!

Also, I learned a lot from the bloggers - Putra, Putra's bro, Daniel & Sandra. Sandra did an EXCELLENT job in the interview! *Respect*

Well it happened that there's some blogger who are invited to send Dato Lee Chong Wei and Malaysia's badminton team to London Olympics 2012, so here I am!! Really lucky like strike TOTO!

I think this year Malaysia's badminton team will fare really well (because I'm here supporting them ahak ahak)! With the spirit of Malaysia with the players, WE CAN MAKE IT TO THE TOP!

Cres Wellness: Time-Release Aquacell Yoga Visage Therapy

[Review/Advertorial]

Cres Wellness, USJ Taipan (Opposite Starbucks)
Last week, I was invited for a review on a new beauty facial treatment called Time Release Aquacell Yoga Visage Therapy by Cres Wellness. Thankfully they managed to slot me in for 6pm time slot, and I could rush over there after work.

Upon arrival, I was briefed about the therapy that I am about to experience. I were informed on the benefits of this treatment - which is to Replenish, Rebalance and Retain the moisture of the skin.

Main product: Visage Oxy Masque, Visage Balancing Aqua, Visage H2o Concentrate

Main Ingredient: Biodynes

What can Biodynes do?
1. ability to increase cellular activity
2. promotes both procollagen and hyaluronic acid synthesis.
3. ability to increase oxygen intake of living cells, increase cellular respiration and promote wound healing.

Because it was already quite late, I started straightaway and was served an experienced beautician, Lily Chia. Despite working late for me, Lily was very patient in analyzing my skin.

Here's a summary of the treatment:-

1.       Aqualance24 Concentrate wt Hyaluronic Acid & Kinetin

Aqualance24 Concentrate introduces in-depth hydration while fortifying its natural regeneration mechanism. Skin feels refreshed and regains a supple smoothness without uncomfortable tightness.

2.       Aqualance24 Masque wt Resveratrol & Carnosine HCL
Provides superior efficacy in reviving skin glow and optimizing moisture balance. It helps prevent glycation-induced skin damage while restoring skin with deep relaxation.

3.       D’sensi Calming & Hydrating Complex wt Ceramide Complex & Silanediol Salicylate
A type of skin identical lipids which help restore skin protective barrier, providing deep nourishment and insulating skin against moisture loss. Rich in Silanediol Salicylate, D'sensi Calming & Hydrating Complex helps soothe and stabilize the skin.

4.       Aqualance24 Essence Masque wt Osmoprotectant & Caviar Extract
Boosts the dynamic of skin hydration by regulating osmotic pressure between the cells and their environment. Its Algae and Caviar Extracts progressively rehydrate, nourish and rejuvenate the skin, leaving the skin soft, smooth and radiantly alive.

This treatment boasts of 3 types of masks, each with different functions and benefits. Among all, I loved the one with the pineapple scent most! The whole course of treatment takes approximately 2 hours of facial and neck massage. Machines were also being used, along with various kinds of serums. Lily told me that the machines increased up the absorbancy of the serum, hence, make it more efficient and the results will be amazing!

It felt really good after the therapy.
Right after the facial. Can you see the bright glow?
Then, I was being advised on my skin condition by the consultant. So here's what it was written.
Translation: mixed skin type. blotchy skin tone, dull, large pores. congested pores. scar problem, crows feet (wrinkles on eyes) and saggy skin.

Following from this treatment, Cres Wellness was REALLY PERSISTENT for me to undergo their Bio-Cell or Multi Vitamin treatments, then follow on with Aquacell for maintenance. Besides that, they also offer a Three (3) Months Beauty Program, which the clients have to be committed too! So, that's the price of beauty - Discipline (and money)! haha..

In my honest opinion, this therapy does help in boosting my skin moisture content. I can feel the tightness after the oxygen mist spray. Also, there's a glow on the skin surface after the treatment. The silky and smooth sensation can last for more than 24 hours =)

So, here's my before and after image (non edited).
I still have blotchy skin and eyebags which I have to work on it.
Not to mention my pimple problems T_T

This is the branch I went:-
